Our dual purposed learning program is broken up into lesson plans and interactive activity

Lesson Plan

Formatted and focused on teaching these key principles:

Equine Etiquette and Vocabulary - Educational Material and Workbook assignments to familiarize students with terminology

Horse Health Care & Maintenance - Identifying the Digestive parts, understanding the Nutritional needs and Grooming techniques for Boarding Horses

Equestrian focused Art class - Aiding to identify queues from a horse's body Language and temperament

Ride Writers – Writing Workshop

Career Opportunity/Development - Guest presenters from various careers surrounding Horses; information on therapeutic riding and promoting post secondary scholarship options.

Activity

Formatted and focused on demonstrating these key Skills:

Approach - How to mount & dismount properly

Proper Riding Posture - Physical Activity to promote core strength and balance necessary to ride

Leading - Hands on direction with positioning and directing a Horse

Horsemanship - Guidance on grooming, feeding, stall cleanliness, bridle and saddle placement

Exercise - Posting & sitting Trot

Gaits - Teaching how to Halt, Walk, Trot, Jog, Pace, Canter, Loop, Gallop, Back

Flatwork - Circle, Figure 8, Serpentine, Spiral, Adjusting Stride

Ages 14 – 17

Our Teen Team program incorporates more advanced learning opportunities without sacrificing any fun. This special session is formatted with our more mature equine enthusiast in mind.
